This Shipping Policy explains how shipping, delivery, freight handling, tracking, damage claims, and related issues are handled for orders placed through www.backyardentertainingdirect.com.

By placing an order with Backyard Entertaining Direct, you agree to the terms of this Shipping Policy.

1. Shipping Destinations

Backyard Entertaining Direct currently ships to customers within the contiguous United States.

At this time, we do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or international destinations unless expressly stated otherwise on the product page or approved by us in writing before purchase.

Some products may have additional shipping restrictions based on size, weight, carrier availability, supplier limitations, or delivery location.

2. Shipping Methods

Many of our products, including outdoor furniture, fire pits, swing sets, playsets, outdoor structures, and other backyard entertainment products, are large, heavy, or oversized. As a result, orders may ship by:

  • Standard parcel carriers such as UPS or FedEx;

  • Less-than-truckload freight carriers;

  • Manufacturer-direct shipping;

  • Supplier warehouse shipping;

  • Scheduled freight delivery.

Shipping method depends on the product, warehouse location, supplier, order size, and delivery destination.

3. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs, when applicable, will be displayed at checkout or communicated before order finalization.

Some products may include free shipping, while others may require additional shipping charges due to product size, freight requirements, remote delivery areas, liftgate service, or other carrier-related costs.

Unless otherwise stated, free shipping applies only to eligible orders shipped within the contiguous United States and does not include optional services such as inside delivery, white-glove delivery, assembly, installation, storage, or expedited shipping.

We reserve the right to contact you after checkout if additional shipping charges apply due to remote location, limited access delivery, carrier restrictions, incorrect address information, or other circumstances outside our control. If additional charges apply, you may approve the charges or cancel the affected order before shipment.

4. Order Processing Time

Most orders begin processing within 1–3 business days after payment is received.

Processing times may vary depending on product availability, supplier processing, warehouse schedule, order verification, fraud screening, manufacturer lead times, holidays, or other factors.

Orders are processed Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will generally begin processing on the next business day.

Please note that processing time is separate from shipping transit time.

5. Estimated Delivery Times

Estimated delivery times vary by product, supplier, shipping method, and destination.

Typical delivery estimates may include:

  • Parcel shipments: approximately 3–10 business days after shipment;

  • Freight shipments: approximately 5–15 business days after shipment;

  • Large, custom, backordered, or manufacturer-direct items: lead times may vary and may be longer.

Delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless expressly stated in writing. Delays may occur due to weather, carrier delays, freight terminal delays, supplier delays, inventory changes, labor disruptions, incorrect address information, high seasonal demand, or other circumstances outside our control.

Backyard Entertaining Direct is not responsible for delays caused by carriers, suppliers, manufacturers, weather, natural disasters, or events outside our reasonable control.

6. Freight Delivery

Many large or heavy items ship by freight carrier. Freight delivery is different from normal parcel delivery.

Unless otherwise stated, freight delivery is typically curbside delivery. This means the carrier will deliver the order to the curb, driveway entrance, or nearest accessible point at the delivery address.

Freight delivery usually does not include:

  • Inside delivery;

  • Backyard placement;

  • Garage placement;

  • Assembly;

  • Installation;

  • Packaging removal;

  • Moving the product up or down stairs;

  • Carrying items over long distances;

  • Delivery through narrow gates, steep driveways, gravel roads, or restricted access areas.

You are responsible for arranging any additional help needed to move, unpack, assemble, or install your order after delivery.

7. Delivery Appointments

For freight shipments, the carrier may contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. You are responsible for responding to the carrier and being available during the scheduled delivery window.

If you miss a scheduled freight delivery appointment, refuse delivery without authorization, provide an incorrect address, or are unavailable to receive the shipment, additional fees may apply. These may include redelivery fees, storage fees, return freight fees, or other carrier charges.

Any such charges are the customer’s responsibility unless the issue was caused by our error.

8. Delivery Inspection Requirements

You must inspect your shipment carefully at the time of delivery.

Before signing for a freight delivery, please:

  1. Inspect the packaging for visible damage;

  2. Look for crushed corners, holes, tears, punctures, water damage, broken pallet pieces, or missing boxes;

  3. Confirm the number of boxes or pieces matches the delivery receipt;

  4. Note any damage or missing items directly on the delivery receipt before signing;

  5. Take clear photos of the packaging and any visible damage.

If there is visible damage, you should write “DAMAGED” on the delivery receipt before signing. If boxes or pieces are missing, write “MISSING ITEMS” on the delivery receipt before signing.

Do not sign the delivery receipt as clear if the shipment appears damaged or incomplete.

Failure to properly inspect and document damage or missing items at delivery may limit or prevent our ability to assist with a freight claim, replacement, repair, or refund.

9. Damaged Shipments

If your order arrives damaged, contact us immediately at support@backyardentertainingdirect.com.

Damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.

Please include:

  • Your order number;

  • A description of the damage;

  • Photos of the damaged product;

  • Photos of the packaging;

  • Photos of the shipping label;

  • A copy or photo of the delivery receipt showing any damage notation.

Please keep all original packaging, pallets, boxes, and packing materials until the claim is resolved. Carriers and manufacturers may require inspection of the packaging before approving a claim.

We will work with the carrier, supplier, or manufacturer to determine the appropriate resolution, which may include replacement parts, repair, replacement, or another remedy depending on the situation.

10. Concealed Damage

Concealed damage is damage discovered after delivery that was not visible at the time of receipt.

If you discover concealed damage, contact us within 48 hours of delivery at support@backyardentertainingdirect.com.

Please include your order number, photos of the damage, photos of the packaging, and a description of the issue.

Concealed damage claims are time-sensitive. Claims reported after the required timeframe may be denied by the carrier, supplier, or manufacturer.

11. Lost Shipments

If tracking shows your order has not moved for an unusual period of time or appears to be lost, please contact us at support@backyardentertainingdirect.com.

We will work with the carrier, supplier, or manufacturer to investigate the shipment. Resolution may depend on the carrier’s investigation and claim process.

If tracking shows that an order was delivered but you did not receive it, please first check the delivery area, surrounding property, neighbors, building management, or anyone else who may have accepted the delivery. Then contact us for assistance.

12. Missing Items

If your order arrives with missing boxes, components, hardware, parts, or accessories, contact us within 48 hours of delivery at support@backyardentertainingdirect.com.

Please include:

  • Your order number;

  • A description of the missing item or part;

  • Photos of what was received;

  • Photos of the packaging and labels;

  • A copy of the delivery receipt, if applicable.

We will work with the supplier or manufacturer to investigate and resolve the issue.

13. Incorrect Shipping Address

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout.

Backyard Entertaining Direct is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, lost shipments, return freight charges, storage fees, or additional costs caused by incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable shipping information provided by the customer.

If you need to update your shipping address after placing an order, contact us immediately at support@backyardentertainingdirect.com. We cannot guarantee that address changes can be made after an order has begun processing or shipped.

If an order is returned or rerouted due to an incorrect address, additional shipping, return, rerouting, or storage fees may apply.

14. Delivery Access

You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery location is accessible for the carrier.

Please notify us before shipment if your delivery address has limited access, including but not limited to:

  • Gated communities;

  • Narrow roads;

  • Gravel roads;

  • Steep driveways;

  • Low-hanging trees or wires;

  • Remote or rural locations;

  • Construction zones;

  • Apartment complexes;

  • Commercial buildings;

  • Locations requiring special delivery instructions.

Additional delivery fees may apply for limited access locations or special carrier requirements.

15. Backorders and Preorders

Some products may be temporarily backordered, made to order, or available for preorder.

If an item is backordered or delayed, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you using the contact information provided at checkout.

Estimated backorder or preorder dates are not guaranteed and may change due to supplier, manufacturer, production, import, or freight delays.

16. Order Cancellations Before Shipment

If you wish to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible at support@backyardentertainingdirect.com.

We will make reasonable efforts to cancel the order before it ships. However, once an order has been processed, packed, staged, assigned to a carrier, or shipped, cancellation may no longer be possible.

If cancellation is possible, certain supplier, processing, payment, or restocking fees may apply depending on the product and order status.

17. Refused Deliveries

Do not refuse delivery unless we specifically instruct you to do so in writing.

If you refuse a shipment without authorization, you may be responsible for return freight charges, redelivery fees, storage fees, restocking fees, and any other costs charged by the carrier, supplier, or manufacturer.

If a shipment appears damaged, please follow the inspection steps in this Shipping Policy and contact us immediately.

18. Installation, Assembly, and Placement

Unless expressly stated otherwise, shipping does not include installation, assembly, product setup, site preparation, anchoring, utility connections, gas connections, electrical work, permitting, or removal of old products.

You are responsible for arranging any necessary labor, equipment, professional installation, permits, and site preparation.

19. Returns and Refunds

Shipping-related returns, refused deliveries, and damaged shipment claims may be subject to the terms of our Return and Refund Policy.
